INSPECTION AND SUPERVISION OF FOOD.
Milk Supply.—There are 2 wholesale dealers, 231 retail milk purveyors, and 1 cowkeeper
in this district. Their premises and utensils are frequently inspected.
In addition there are 45 milk sellers whose premises are situate outside Willesden.
The following table shows the number of licences granted for the sale of graded milk under
the Milk (Special Designations) Order, 1923, during the year 1932

There were no refusals or revocations of licences under the Milk (Special Designations) Order,
1923, during the year.
Two applications for registration as dairymen were refused.
Twenty-five samples of designated milks were examined during the year. 14 of these were
"certified" milk and 3 of them were found not to conform to the standard laid down by the Regulations.
These 3 results were reported to the Minister of Health, who is the authority issuing licences
for certified milk. The remaining 11 samples were of "pasteurised," all of which were satisfactory.
Fifty samples of milk were taken during the year for examination for the presence of tubercle
bacilli under the Milk and Dairies (Consolidation) Act, 1915.
