Storage Plant.—The petrol storage plant installed in January, 1915, is still working satisfactorily,
and is now supplying the Engineer's Department of the Council also, saving that department
Id. per gall., or £25 per annum. To save costs the petrol is sometimes conveyed with bedding and
clothing, which appears undesirable.
This plant, which finished paying for itself in 1919 by its saving in taking bulk supply, has
cost nothing in upkeep except the replacement of one delivery hose.
Workshop Plant.—This is in good order and effects a great saving, both in motor and hospit a
repairs which are both increasing.
Accidents.—I am pleased to report that no accidents occurred during the year.
Replacements Required.—Seven of the vehicles attached to this service have now been in
constant use for 12 years, and as the demands on the service are increasing, and the repairs to the
vehicles become more frequent, replacements should be considered. Five of these vehicles have
covered more than 100,000 miles each.
Cloak Room.—This is now too small for the number of men concerned, and clothes are packed
on top of one another or laid about.
GEORGE F. BUCHAN.
Medical Officer of Health.
