(b) Lodgers or children over 14 years.
If payment under 8s. is made nothing is reckoned
towards income of family
If payment between 8s. and 10s. is made, 10 per
cent. of payment is reckoned towards income
of family.
If payment between 10s. and 12s. 6d. is made, 15
per cent. of payment is reckoned towards income
of family.
If payment over 12s. 6d. is made, 20 per cent. of
payment is reckoned towards income of family.
(c) Letting. Room furnished or unfurnished—whole
of amount received taken as income.
B. Outgoings. These include:—
(a) Rent.
(b) Insurance.
(c) Fares to and from work.
(d) Care of children.
C. Number in Family.
This includes parents or guardians, or older sisters
looking after the home and not working, and
children under 14 years of age.
D. Economic Circumstances per Head.
The outgoings are subtracted from the income and the
remainder divided by the number in the family.
Present Scale.
If the result is 3s. 6d. or less per week all the school
children in the family may be fed.
Food Requirements.

The food requirements of a normal school child of 10 years of age to satisfy completely its physiological appetite are as follows :—
