The total number of admissions for the vear
was 437, as compared with 775 in 1909, and 854 in
1908.
These 437 cases were admitted suffering from
the following diseases :—
Scarlet Fever, 228. In 1909 there were 524
Diphtheria, 134. ,, ,, 160
Enteric Fever, 11. ,, ,, 29

Amongst the 437 cases there were 16 deaths.
Diphtheria accounted for 10 deaths, Enteric Fever
for 1, and "other diseases" for 5, but there was
not a single death from Scarlet Fever.
In 1909 there were 33 deaths, and 16 of these
were due to Scarlet Fever.
The average daily number of patients under
treatment was 50.5. In 1909 the average was
1047.
