MORTALITY
General Mortality and Death-rate.—The nett number of deaths
accredited to this district was 820, 50 more than in 1948.
This gives a crude death-rate of 11.04 per 1,000 of the population'
and a corrected death-rate of 9.49 (rate for 1948—10.40).
This is the first time for a number of years that the Registrar
General has supplied a comparability factor for application to the
death rate for the area.
