Altogether 489 sessions were held, and the following table gives
a summary of the attendances:—

(vi) Health Visitors.
There is still a shortage of Health Visitors in the district, but
it is hoped that in the future, more will be obtained from the scheme
for the training of Health Visitors, now in operation throughout the
County.
Table 7 relates to Home Visits paid by the Health Visitors
during the year.

(vii) The Care of Premature Infants.
These arrangements remain the same, the two draught-proof
cots being available as required.
(viii) Inspection of Nursing Homes.
Two additional Nursing Homes were established during the
year, one at 72 Heath Park Road, for the reception of eight chronic
or aged patients, and one at '21 Gilbert Road, for the reception of
eight medical or chronic patients. Two Nursing Homes, however,
one at 20 Parkland Avenue, and one at 71 Western Road, discontinued,
so that the total number remains at three.
All were inspected, once per quarter, on behalf of the County
Council.
