(vi) Health Visitors.
As from 1st April, Miss F. K. Wells has acted as Superintendent
Health Visitor, and her duties include not only the supervision
of the Health Visitors, but also that of the School Nurses, the
Matrons of the Day Nurseries, and the Tuberculosis Visitors.
Table 7 relates to House visits paid by the Health Visitors
during the year.

(vii) The Care of Premature Infants.
The arrangements, as hitherto, were again continued throughout
the year, and use was made of the two draught-proof cots, etc.,
which are kept at one of the clinics for issue on loan, if required.
(viii) Inspection of Nursing Homes.
The number of Nursing Homes in this area remains at 3, and
these were inspected, as a routine, once per quarter. On each of
these occasions, conditions were found to be satisfactory.
(ix) Domestic Helps.
This service continues to be very popular, and hitherto the
supply has met the demand.
At the end of the year approximately 100 Part-time Helps were
employed, and during the year these Helps gave assistance in 387
individual cases.
(x) Day Nurseries.
The 3 Day Nurseries have again been working to full capacity,
and a fairly large waiting list has been maintained at each. During
the year, the Health Area Sub-Committee gave consideration to
the provision of two additional Nurseries, and the extension of the
"St. Moritz" Nursery to take another 20 children. This latter,
however, was not sanctioned by the Ministry of Health.
The average attendance for the year at each Nursery was as
follows:—
