INSPECTION AND SUPERVISION OF FOOD.
Periodical visits were made to premises and stalls where foods are prepared,
stored or exposed for sale. Defects found at 15 food premises were remedied.
Legal proceedings were taken under the Food and Drugs Act, 1938,
Section 13, against one cafe proprietor, and fines of £5 0s. Od. and £1 0s. 0d.
were imposed.
The amount of food surrendered and condemned as unfit for human food
after examination by your Inspectors, was 11 tons, 10 cwts., 2 qrs., 15 lbs., a
large proportion of which was at a Food Manufacturing Factory.
