Adurteration, etc.
The Kent County Council administers the Food and Drugs
(Adulteration) Act in this District. Their Inspector took 82
samples of various foods during the year and all were found to be
genuine. In addition 60 informal samples of new milk were purchased
by your Inspectors and submitted for analysis. One sample was 12.7,
deficient in fat and had 5, of added water but further samples taken in
this case proved to be genuine.
Factories Act, 1957.
Visits paid to factories total 84 and in addition to verbal
intimations regarding small defects, 10 written notices were served and
complied with.
A considerable amount of time was spent by your Inspectors on
work in connection with the Air Raid Precautions services of the
district.
