The Clerk to the Kent County Council has kindly furnished the following statement of the 101 samples taken:—

2 Dried Fruit | 3 Sausages |
1 Gin | 2 Shredded Suet |
1 Tincture of Iodine | 2 Sugar |
1 Whisky |
All samples were found to be genuine.
In addition, 66 informal samples of new milk were purchased
by your Inspectors and submitted for analysis. Of
these, 59 samples were reported genuine and 7 slightly below
standard. Subsequent samples in the latter cases proved to be
genuine.
Chemical and Bacteriological Examination of Food.
Informal samples of milk are analysed by an analytical
chemist in London and formal samples by the Public Analyst
for Kent.
Facilities are available at the Kent County Laboratory
and the Clinical Research Association for the bacteriological
examination of food.
