Infant Mortality.
There were 16 deaths of infants under one year of age in the
Urban District during 1961, as compared with 27 in the previous year.
The table which follows gives the Orpington mortality rate for legitimate and illegitimate infants, as well as for all infants, and also shows the comparison between the infant mortality rate in the Urban District and that for England and Wales during the past ten years.
