INFANTILE MORTALITY.
Tlie number of deaths registered as occurring in infants
under one year of age was 26 (14 males and 12 females). Of
these, 23 were legitimate and 3 were illegitimate.
The Infantile Mortality Rate was equal to 28 per thousand
births, as compared with 52 last year.
The Infantile Mortality Rate for England and Wales was
53, and for 1937, 58,
DEATHS AT DIFFERENT AGES.
Deaths in Children between One and Five Years.—Three
deaths occurred in children between the ages of one and five
years. This is equal to a Death Rate of 0.06 per thousand of
population.
Deaths in Persons of 65 Years and Over.—The number of
deaths registered as occurring in persons of 65 years and over
was 212.. This is equal to a Deatli Rate of 4.5 per thousand of
population, and comprises 54.6 per cent, of total deaths.
