which means that we now have six dental surgeries in operation in the form of three
two-surgery suites, one surgery in use full time by the dental auxiliary and dental
surgeons equivalent to 4-8/llths full time in the others.
For many years it has been necessary to send all dental patients needing X-ray
facilities to Park House Clinic but X-ray machines for Dawlish Road Clinic and Leyton
Green Clinic are now on order and in future full dental X-ray units will be in operation
at these clinics. This is in accordance with the policy pursued in the area for many
years that all the Council's surgeries should be modern, up-to-date units able to
offer full facilities for dental treatment.
The course of lectures given by Mr.Arnold to the dental surgery assistants has
been continued during the year and has been very helpful and much appreciated.
The staffing position has only varied slightly during the year, remaining around
the equivalent of 4-8/llths whole time Dental Officers and one Dental Auxiliary, and
this was the figure at the close of the year."
