Numbers of cases in which medical aid was summoned by midwives
during the year under Section 14 (1) of the Midwives' Act,
1918:—
(1) Where the Medical Practitioner had arranged to
provide the patient with maternity medical services
under the National Health Service 7

Fees paid to Doctors.
Eighty-seven accounts were received from general medical
practitioners for assistance rendered to midwives under the provisions
of the Medical Practitioners (Fees) Regulations, 1948.
The total amount paid to medical practitioners during the year was
£232 12s. 6d.
