The following conditions were found :—
Hypermetropia with squint 46
Squint only 13
Epicanthus 25
Convalescent Home Treatment.
Children.
Twelve children recommended by the Clinic Medical Officers
were sent to Convalescent Homes.
Nursing Mothers.
Arrangements were made for 5 mothers and their babies
to have periods of convalescence following confinement.

In the year 1948 the stillbirth rate in Leyton reached the very
low figure of 14.69—markedly below the average for the country
and even for the neighbouring areas. This year the rate is back
to 20.43—still a very good figure.
