DAY NURSERIES.
My Annual Report for 1946 contained somewhat full observations
on the general question of nursery provision for children under
five years of age ; along with a special report dealing with such
matters as periods of attendance of children who had been withdrawn,
nursery dietories, progress of children and other matters.
Scale of Charges.—In March your Council reviewed the
amount of contributions to be made by parents and decided that
the scale of charges in future should be in accordance with the
Council's scale of necessity, the minimum charge to be Is. per day
and the maximum charge 5s. per day.
Outbreak of Sonne Dysentery, Ellingham Road Nursery.—On
10th July one member of the nursing staff and two
