GENERAL PROVISIONS OF HEALTH SERVICES
FOR THE AREA.
FOOT CLINIC.
Mr. G. T. Hall was appointed part-time Temporary Assistant
in February, 1944, in place of Mr. Pay, and took over duties on
Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Miss J. M. Hunter
assisted on Mondays and Wednesdays. This arrangement was
carried out by Miss Hunter until 27th March, 1944, after which date
she was able to assist on Wednesdays only. This resulted in
approximately 580 treatments less in the year.
In June, 1944, Miss Nichols, clerk, was transferred to the
Town Hall, and assistance in the clerical work was kindly given
by women on the staff of the First Aid Post at the Public Baths,
High Road. Despite these difficulties and the Flying Bomb
menace from June until September, there was an increase of 234
treatments.
The number of patients who attended for treatment was 1,474; and the total treatments given were 6,072 (4.1 treatments per patient).
