Unavoidable delay in requisitioning premises by the Council,
or in bringing pressure to bear upon the owner to let unoccupied
premises, was caused through inability to trace the whereabouts of
owners and in many cases to the reluctance of owners to answer
enquiries.
Housing Act, 1936.
Information regarding 92 houses and 36 flats was
supplied in connection with the "permitted number of persons"
in dwellings under the Act.
House-to-House Inspection.
Houses in the undermentioned roads have been inspected
during the year:—
Angle Street.
Carlisle Road.
Church Road.
Crescent Road.
Grange Road.
Junction Road.
Shaftesbury Road.
Temple Street.
Wood Street.
Rent and Mortgage Interest Restriction Act, 1920-1933.
Two applications for certificates were received, and granted.
