Report by the Aijthobity's Senior Dental Officer
(A. E. Hall, L.D.S.)
Since August 1st, 1942, the Dental Officer seconded to the
Essex County Authority for part-time service with the evacuated
School children has returned to full-time service in Leyton, but in
spite of this the increase in the number of children attending Schools
in the Borough has resulted in a lengthening of the period between
successive Dental Inspections.
Increase in Sound Dentition in 5 Year Old Children.
It is very pleasing to note the increase in naturally sound
dentitions (as distinct from those rendered sound by extraction
and/or filling) in this age group, which would appear to bear some
relation to the comparative absence of cheap confectionery as these
children would not normally have consumed many sweets or sticky
cakes before the time their scarcity became pronounced.
