As it is a condition of grant that the mothers or infants must attend the Authority's Centres—unless when unable to attend, in which case the home is visited by a Health Visitor—all mothers and infants in receipt of milk free or at reduced price are under medical supervision.

During the year 34 sessions of the Post-Natal and Gynaecological
Clinic were held. The number of new patients who attended
was 284, out of 823 who received appointments to attend (= 34.5
per cent.). Of these, 226 were " post-natal " (i.e., they had had a
confinement within the previous three months); and 18 were
" gynaecological."
The disposal of these cases was as follows ;—
Discharged after one attendance 149
Re-attended for examination and treatment 135
Referred with letter to medical practitioners 10
Referred to hospital 4
