MEAT.
Slaughter-Houses.—There are now eight licensed slaughterhouses
in the Borough. One registered slaughter-house was
demolished during 1935.
One thousand seven hundred and forty-three inspections of
these slaughter-houses have been made.
Carcases and Viscera Inspected.—There are 2 Inspectors
on duty at the London Co-operative Society's Abattoir, and
the other slaughter-houses are visited regularly by the District
Sanitary Inspectors. The number of animals examined and the
amount of meat subsequently condemned gives some idea of the
able manner in which this work is done by the Inspectors concerned.
