Number of dwelling-houses which, after the
making of closing orders, were made fit for
human habitation . Nil.
General character of the defects found to
exist in the dwelling-houses inspected Leaking drains; broken ventilating
pipes: w.c. flushing
cisterns and pipes out of order;
cracked and broken w.c. pans;
broken, cracked and porous
scullery sinks and waste pipes;
leaking roofs; absence of, or
broken paving around houses;
holes in plaster of ceilings and
walls; damp walls; want of
ventilation under ground floors;
general uncleanly conditions.

Section 26 (2).
The Medical Officer of Health did not receive any applications
during the year.
INCREASE OF RENT AND MORTGAGE INTEREST
(RESTRICTIONS) ACT, 1920.
The Council directed that the certificate of the Sanitary
Authority, II. 2 of the above Act, shall be issued by the Medical
Officer of Health.
The first certificate was given on the 26th November, and five
in all up to December 31st.
