Our birth.rate for 1907 was 26.6 per 1,000 of population.

The birth.rate which it will thus be seen has been diminishing
year by year is .3 per 1,000 of the population higher than last
year. Whether we have arrived at the lowest point or not
remains to be seen.
The number of illegitimate births was 51, of these 27 were
males and 24 females.
Our illegitimate birth.rate is therefore .39 per 1,000 of the
population.
DEATHS.
As in last year.s returns the transferable deaths, those of
residents of Leyton who have died in other districts, are included
in the present report.
The inhabitants of Leyton who died during the year 1913
numbered 1,336. Of these 646 were males and 690 females.
Our death.rate is thus, approximately, 10.3 per 1,000 of the
population.
In 1912 the death.rate was 10.6 per 1,000 of the population.
The death.rate for England and Wales in 1913 was 13.7; for
the 96 Great Towns, 14.3; and for London, 14.2.
