the addresses notified on the outworkers' lists, necessary precautions
are taken to prevent the spread of the disease; the work
found in such houses is disinfected, and if the case is being treated
at home further work is forbidden on the premises until all risk
of infection has passed.
Infectious diseases this year occurred in 13 of the outworkers'
homes, and the necessary precautions as given above
were taken.
In 1913 the addresses of 695 outworkers were received from
other Councils, and 21 other addresses sent in error to our
District were forwarded to the proper authorities.
Lists containing 225 names have been forwarded to other
Councils in whose districts outworkers employed by Leyton firms
reside:—

We have continued to visit likely employers of outworkers of
the various trades in the District, and advised them as to their
responsibility in the matter, with the result that we now have a
more complete list of addresses where the work is being done.
Many reminder notices still have to be sent to employers, who are
very dilatory in sending in their lists, and we still receive from
