The occupiers of infected houses are cautioned as to sending
infected clothing to laundries, and against taking into the house
milk cans belonging to milk vendors.
On the convalescence or removal to hospital of the sufferers
the premises and bedding, &c., are disinfected under out supervision
; the sanitary arrangements and drains are also inspected ;
and notices have been served to carry out the necessary work and
to remedy defects, dilapidations, or uncleanly conditions found to
exist. The work of ascertaining that the requirements of these
notices are complied with entails several visits to each house and
considerable correspondence.
Appended is a summary of the work in connection therewith :—

Quantities of bedding from the Public Institutions have been
removed and disinfected at the Steam Disinfector.
Disinfectants are supplied in cases of Infectious Disease,
and can be obtained at the Town Hall at any time during office
hours.
