The side wards, which accommodate two patients each and
of which there are five, have been fitted with gas radiators. The-:e
radiators are very convenient, are easily regulated, and are found to
be quite satisfactory in use.
The ward kitchens have been furnished with a high dado of
Emdeca sheeting, which is a great improvement on the bare wooden
walls which previously existed.
The administration block has suffered from an invasion of
rats, and although many expedients have been adopted to get rid
of them, up to now our efforts have not been crowned with success.
Chiefly for this reason, I recommended the building of an
entirely new rat-proof larder in which all food should be stored.
It is constructed of brickwork with a tiled roof, and cost
about £40.
All the hospital buildings have been repainted outside.
Each of the wards has been thoroughly cleansed and disinfected
at least once during the year, some of them twice.
STAFF.
The Staff consists of a Matron, 14 Nurses, and 11 Domestic
Staff.
