REPORT ON THE WORK OF THE
TEMPORARY ISOLATION HOSPITAL FOR
1911.
The present temporary Isolation Hospital, as stated in last
year's report, has been in existence since 1896; it has continued
to give satisfaction to the Council, to the patients, and to myself.
The total number of patients treated during the year was 372,
against 442 during 1910.
The decrease is due to a lesser number of Scarlet Fever patients
—viz., 263 against 352.
The number of Diphtheria patients was slightly in excess of
those treated in 1910—viz., 109 against 90.
The total number of patients' days in hospital was 18,938.
The total amount expended on the hospital was £3,125 10s. 3d.,
which gives an average cost of 3s. 3 6d. per patient per diem.
The amount expended on provisions was £891 7s. 1d., which
includes the cost of food for the Staff. This gives a daily average
of l129d. per patient.
