ANNUAL HEALTH REPORT
FOR 1911,

The general characteristics of the District and of its inhabitants
have been outlined in the last three or four Reports, and as no
material change has taken place in either it is unnecessary to repeat
them here.
ASSESSABLE AND RATEABLE VALUE.•
The present assessable value is £481,450 0s. 0d. for general
district purposes, and a rate of Id. in the £1 produces £1,855 0s. 0d.
For poor rate purposes the rateable value is £514,374 15s. 0d.,
and a Id. rate produces £1,973 10s. 0d.
AREA, INHABITED HOUSES, POPULATION.
The district has a total area of 2,594 acres; at the end of
May it contained 23,360 houses, and of these 1.213 were uninhabited.
The census of 1911 gave our population as 124,736, and on
this number of inhabitants the various rates have been calculated.
