RINGWORM OF SCALP.
105 cases of Ringworm of the Scalp were certified as fit to
return to school during the year. Of these the following is a return
of the length of time absence from school was necessary:—
Under 1 month 12 cases.
1 to 3 months 18 ,
3 „ 4 „ 8 „
4 „ 6 „ 18 „
6 „ 8 „ 19 „
8 „ 10 „ 15 „
10 „ 12 „ 6 „
12 „ 14 „ 6 „
14 „ 16 „ 0 case.
16 „ 18 „ 1 „
18 „ 20 „ 1 „
20 „ 25 „ 1 „
And 10 cases were lost sight of on account of having left school or
removed from district.
VERMINOUS CHILDREN.
44 prosecutions were undertaken for non-attendance at school
of children suffering from verminous conditions of hair and scalp,
with the following results:—
1 fine of 10s. and costs.
27 fines of 5s. and costs.
