The above cases come up for examination each week until I
certify they are fit to return to school.
I have recently, in conjunction with Mr. Lash, the head School
Attendance Officer, introduced a card,* one of which is given to each
of these children, this I initial each time I see the child so that when
the Attendance Officer calls he can see by the card the last date on
which the child was seen by me. Sometimes as many as 50 or 60
children have been seen in a morning.
So far no provision is made for the mentally defective children,,
the portion of the High Road School suggested by the Ccuncil not
being approved by the Board of Education.
