NOTE.—The column heading "No. of Colonics" is an abbreviation for "Number of
colonies per millilitre of milk growing on Agar at, 37°C. in 48 hours."
In certain cases where milk sold as ungraded is thought to have been
either heat-treated or pasteurised it is submitted to the Methylene Blue
and Phosphatase tests.
Note on Phosphatase Test:
Group I—Sufficiently heat-treated.
II—Insufficiently heat-treated.
the year were submitted to the laboratory for bacteriological examination
and the results on the whole were very satisfactory.
