Refuse is disposed of by controlled tipping on land which is
under the control of the Council. One area is in the North West
Ward, where low lying land is being covered and levelled with the
ultimate intention of making a public open space. In another part
of the area, low lying ground is being filled up and when completed
will be used as a school playing ground.
Cesspool emptying is carried out by mechanical emptiers and
the contents disposed of on land under the control of the Council.
