The Milk sold and delivered from 22 Dairy Premises is
received from Central Dep6ts in adjoining Districts.
The bottling, cleansing and sterilisation of the vessels
employed is performed at these Depots where special mechanical
plant is used for the purpose and at which the milk is
handled under the most hygienic conditions and pasteurised.
Therefore, no "Loose" or unbottled Milk is retailed from
these dairies except in one or two cases where a counter pan
is in use, and no cleansing of vessels at the premises is rendered
necessary.
There are 19 dairies at which the milk is cooled, strained
and placed in bottles and capped ready for delivery, and at
which all churns, vessels and utensils used in the conduct
of the business are cleansed and sterilised at the dairy
premises. No special plant is employed at these Dairies.
At 4 Shops, milk is either supplied in refreshment form,
or from a Counter Pan—the Counter Pans are provided with
covers.
Four Retailers purvey milk in the District from Milk
Vehicles, their dairy premises being situate in adjoining
districts.
