Annual Report for the Year 1925
of the
Medical Officer of Health.
Public Health Department,
"Burroughs House,"
The Burroughs,
Hendon, N.W. 4.
March, 1926.
To the Chairman and Members of the Urban District
Council of Hendon.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
I have the honour to present my report for the year 1925.
The Ministry of Health has called for a special survey
report, this year, which besides being a report for the year
1925 should survey the Public Health and the work of the
department during the past five years. That period practically
coincides with the period during which I have held office.
The compilation of such a report entails a great amount of
time and labour and it has thrown a considerable strain on
my clerical staff to prepare it, while carrying on the routine
work of the department. In this rapidly growing district
the volume of work to be done by the department keeps
steadily increasing and is at times extremely difficult to cope
with. In addition, new duties are frequently placed upon
the department as a result of new Acts of Parliament and
Departmental Regulations and there is little doubt that the
question of additional staff will have to be considered before
long.
