(2) Scabies.
Only 4 cases were discovered during the year.
3 of these cases were cured at the School Clinic and
1 privately.
(3) Impetigo.
94 cases were discovered. These were all cured,
89 at the School Clinic and 5 elsewhere.
(4) Other Skin Diseases and Minor Injuries.—
59 cases came under observation. 29 were treated
at the School Clinic and 7 by private arrangement.
(f) External Eye Diseases.
15 cases were referred for treatment. Including
cases brought forward from the previous year, 11 were
treated at the School Clinic and 16 otherwise.
(g) Defective Vision and Squint.
140 cases were referred for treatment, 123 obtained
suitable glasses, 2 received other forms of treatment
and in 5 cases treatment was found to be unnecessary.
One case of squint was treated by operation.
(h) Ear Disease and Defective Hearing.
15 cases of ear disease were referred for treatment.
Including cases brought over from the previous year,
22 received treatment, 12 being cured and 10 improved.
6 cases of deafness were referred for treatment and
3 were cured. The remainder are still under observation.
(i) Dental Defects.
101 cases were referred for treatment and 86 received
treatment. The number referred for treatment
represents only a small proportion of children who had
dental defects, since only bad cases, or those shewing
special symptoms, were referred.
