SUMMONSES.
It was not found necessary to take proceedings for noncompliance
with any Statutory Notices under the Public
Health Acts.
A Closing Order made in respect of a dwelling house
under the Housing and Town Planning, etc., Act, 1909, was
not obeyed, the occupier failing to comply with the Notice
served upon him to quit the premises. A complaint was laid
before the Magistrates and a summons granted. On the
case being heard, the Magistrates made an Order for the
Occupier to quit the dwelling. The Order was obeyed and
the dwelling house was pulled down and demolished.
It is gratifying to be able to record the small number of
Statutory Notices which it was found necessary to serve and
the avoidance of legal proceedings, in successfully dealing
with the large amount of sanitary improvements effected
during the year.
In addition to the defects specially enumerated, many
others have been removed as a result of verbal recommendations
by the Sanitary Inspectors.
