Overcrowding
At the beginning of the year there were 18 known cases of
overcrowding. During the year 4 new cases were discovered but
5 cases were abated leaving 17 outstanding at the end of the
year.
The average number of occupants to each self contained
dwelling was 3.30.
Houses in Multiple Occupation
Ten new cases were reported for action and in four of
these notices were served under Section 15 of the Housing Act,
1961, requiring the provision of additional amenities in accord
ance with the Standards adopted by the Council.
As commonwealth immigrants are often involved in multiple

clerical staff of the Department can speak both of the principal
languages of the Indian sub-continent.
