Part VIII of the Factories Act requires the occupier of a
factory who employs persons to carry out certain classes of work in
their own homes to supply a list of such persons to the District
Council every six months. Fifty-five notifications have been
received and one hundred and thirty-five inspections made ; in
every instance the work was found to be carried out under suitable
conditions.

During the year 1951 the following houses and prefabricated bungalows were completed :

2.— Remedy of Defects during the year without the service of Formal Notices.

Number of dwelling houses rendered fit in consequence of informal action by the Local Authority or their Officers257
