applies to the Greater London area, and then only to those
London Boroughs adopting this part of the Act.
Eleven licences were issued during the year covering the
period from 1st April. 1970 to 31st March. 1971, all requiring that
the refreshment houses should not be opened, or kept open for
public refreshment, resort and entertainment at any time between
eleven o'clock at night and five o'clock in the morning.
Occupiers of premises who want to keep open later than
11.0 p.m. must, of course, comply with and be registered under
Part VIII of the G.L.C. (General Powers)Act, 1968 as night cafes.
Game Act, 1831
Two licences authorising the applicants - both local shopkeepers—to
buy and sell game were renewed during the year
and two other licences lapsed. These licences cover the period
1st July. 1970 to 31st June. 1971.
Food & Drugs Act, 1955-Section 16
During the year four applications for registration of premises
for the manufacture of sausages or potted, pressed, pickled or
preserved food intended for sale and 14 applications for registration
of premises for the storage and sale of ice creams were
approved.
