2406 follow up examinations resulting from previous special or
routine medical inspections.
8214 additional attendances were dealt with by the nursing staff.
Conditions treated included the following:-

Handicapped Pupils
The following schools and special units for handicapped
pupils are provided by the Council:-
Corbets Tey School for educationally subnormal pupils
Dycorts School
Haverin g Grange School'' '' '' ''
Nursery Class for pre-school maladjusted children;
Mead Infants School
Unit for Partially Hearing Pupils; Hacton Junior School.
Other children handicapped by physical disabilities, vision
or hearing defects, etc. are placed a† special schools provided
by neighbouring authorities or, in appropriate cases, at residential
schools.
Maladjusted pupils, and those suffering from epilepsy who
cannot be educated satisfactorily at an ordinary school, usually
attend residential schools.
The peripatetic service for hearing impaired children was
resumed in January 1970 when Miss J.M. John was appointed to
fill one of the vacant posts of Advisory Teacher of the Partially
Hearing.
119children were ascertained as handicapped pupils during
the year and 133 admissions to special schools were arranged.

at the end of the year:-
