Whooping Cough.
There was an outbreak at St. John's Schools in
December, 28 cases being notified.
Mumps
This disease was prevalent at the Middlesex County
Council's Infants Schools in Sydney Road, during the
Autumn.
Phthisis and other Tubrecular Diseases.
Seven cases were notified as belonging to the district,
6 under the Poor Law, aud one under the Hospital
regulations.
Ten Transfer notifications were received of patients
transferred from Leavesden to Colney Hatch Asylums,
aud 14 general notifications.
The death rate was .48.
In each case, it has been the practice for many years
past, ou a case being brought to notice the premises are
visited, the nature of the disease explaiaed, aud disinfectants
aud leaflets supplied.
Disinfection after removal aud fatal case is carried
out as far as possible, and has generally been readily
accepted.
There is no hospital accommodation for this disease.
Poor Law cases are as far as possible sent to a sanatorium.
Asylum.—There were 56 deaths from this disease,
approximately one fifth of the total number 262.
This Institution has Isolation accommodation for
Phthisis.
