Infectious Diseases Notifications, 1889, 1890.

Public Health Acts Amendment Act, 1907, contains—
Notification of Births Act.
This measure was again before your Council, when it was
decided to adopt it.
A scheme was drawn up to carry out the Act.
The District being divided according to the Wards, North,
South and Central, and a voluntary visitor appointed
by the Authority to each Ward. Printed and stamped
notification cards, explaining the working of the Act,
are supplied to the medical men, midwives, and visitors,
ready to be filled in and returned to the Medical Officer
of Health. A leaflet of "Hints to Mothers" is also
sent.
No action arose under the Housing of the Working
Classes Act.
