STATISTICS—1947
1. Inspection of Dwelling-houses during the year:—
(1) (a) Total number of dwelling-houses inspected for housing defects (under Public Health or
Housing Acts) 1,507
(b) Number of inspections made for the purpose 4,001
(2) (a) Number of dwelling-houses (included under sub-head (1) above) which were inspected and
recorded under the Housing Consolidated Regulations, 1925 —

(3) Number of dwelling-houses found to be in a state so dangerous or injurious to health as to
be unfit for human habitation 4

5 Church Path Cottages, N.12
The above houses were found to be unfit for human habitation and incapable of repair at reasonable
cost, and undertakings were giv^n by the owners not to re-let.
1050-1056 High Road, N.20
These houses were found to be in a very dilapidated and dangerous condition, and only No. 1052 was
occupied. As the owners were unable to tome to any arrangement to carry out the necessary work, the
Council commenced negotiations for the compulsory purchase of the property with a view to conversion
into four flats.
21 & 23 Granville Road, N.12
Undertakings to render these houses fit for human habitation had been given by the owners and
accepted by the Council.
The work of repair was nearing completion at the end of the year.
