TUBERCULOSIS
During 1947, 90 new cases of pulmonary tuberculosis were notified comprising 54 males and 36 females.
Five non-pulmonary cases were notified comprising 1 male and 4 females.
There were 27 deaths from pulmonary tuberculosis and 2 from non-pulmonary tuberculosis. This
gives a total of 29 deaths from all forms of tuberculosis, 20 males and 9 females.
The death-rate for the disease was 0.41 per 1,000 of the population.
