populations concerned.
The so-called " factor for correction" in the case of
Finchley is about 1.05, the sex and age distribution obtaining
in England and Wales as a whole being taken as a standard.
In other words, the sex and age-distribution of the population
in Finchley slightly favours a low mortality, and the DeathRate
Corrected for Age and Sex-Distribution would be
13 2x 1.05 = 13.8.
