All the bakehouses, dairies, cowsheds and
slaughter-houses of the district have been periodically
inspected, and in my opinion they are generally kept in a very
satisfactory condition. In the few instances where work was
required to be done, it has been carried out with efficiency and
with all reasonable dispatch. A full list of these is appended to
the Report.
The following Adoptive Acts are in force in the district:—
The Infectious Diseases (Notification) Act, 1889.
„ „ (Prevention) „ 1890.
The Public Health Amendment „ 1890.
The following Bye-laws are in force:—
The cleansing of footways and pavements; the removal
of house refuse; and the cleansing of earth closets,
privies, ash pits, and cesspools.
The prevention of nuisances arising from snow, filth,
dust, ashes, and rubbish, and the keeping of
animals on any premises so as to be injurious to
health.
Common lodging houses.
New streets and buildings.
Slaughter houses.
Houses let in lodgings.
Offensive trades.
