D(7) Shops Act, 1950
With regard to statutory hours of closing, it was necessary
to issue 4 warnings to shop-keepers respecting closing of
shops at the prescribed hour. In one instance a shopkeeper
was prosecuted for selling articles contrary to the Erith
Weekly Half Holiday (No. 1) Order and fined £2. In another
case, the summons was dismissed.
Infringements of health and comfort provisions were
located in the following instances, and the necessary improvements
were subsequently effected:—

D(8) Sanitary accommodation at Offices
At one factory office it was found necessary to implement
Section 46, Public Health Act, 1936, in consequence of which
an additional convenience was provided for each of the sexes,
together with adequate washing accommodation.
