1936, fish frying was declared to be an offensive trade on 17th
March, 1939 and bye-laws were made accordingly.
Within the Borough, there are no offensive trades other
than those of fish-frying, and of these premises, there are 14.
D(5)n Rag Flock & Other Filling Materials Act, 1951.
Whilst there are no manufacturing premises within the
Borough subject to licensing by the Local Authority, two
premises exist wherein filling materials are used, and which
are registered by the Local Authority.
Two samples from the above sources were forwarded to
the prescribed Analyst during the year, with satisfactory
results.
D(5)o Pet Animals Act, 1951
There are 6 pet animal shops within the Borough, and all
are registered and licenced under section 1 of the Act. In
conformance with the statutory requirements, satisfactory
conditions prevail at these shops which are now subject to
regular inspection.
D(5)p Merchandise Marks Act, 1926
One complaint was investigated regarding the sale of
imported plums and attending misdescription of same. Due
enquiry proved that the plums in question were Belle de
Lauvains and Victorias, and that no contravention existed.
