C (3). Scabies
Although the Scabies Order, 1941, was revoked on the
first of January 1948, the Department continued to treat cases
and contacts as soon as it became aware of them.
During the year 5 cases and 4 contacts, involving 3 families
were dealt with. A joint arrangement exists with the Bexley
Borough Council for the treatment of verminous persons and
the disinfection and disinfestation of clothing, bedding, etc.
C (4) Diphtheria Immunisation
This service is now administered by the Kent County
Council, having been transferred on July 5th, 1948.
The latest figures supplied by the County Medical Officer
of Health show the position at December 31st, 1949, and are
given below.
It is interesting to note that no case of Diphtheria occurred
in an immunised child.
