The Demolition orders referred to in (c) (1) above were
made in respect to:—
8 Victoria Street, Belvedere.
1, 2, 3, 3a, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 Orient Cottages, Belvedere.
74 and 76 Nuxley Road, Belvedere.
Housing, informal action, Sec. 12, Housing Act 1936.
In the case of 2 basements, the owners thereof submitted
undertakings not to re-let these premises as and when such
premises became vacant.
F(2)c. Rent and Mortgage Interest (Restriction) Act
1939.
The provisions regarding extortionate rents are administered
by the department and during the year 1945 278
applicants who have sought advice and assistance have been
dealt with. The maximum rent of houses brought under
control by this act is the rent payable at 2nd September, 1939,
subject to certain permitted increases which are provided for
by the act. There is however no provision allowing for
decontrol on vacant possession by the landlord.
